Eleanor of was born about 1244 in Castile, Spain.  Eleanor of's father was Ferdinand III "The Saint" of Castile and her mother was Joan of Ponthieu.  Her paternal grandparents were Alfonso IX of Leon and Berenguela of Castile. She had two brothers named Ferdinand of and Louis of. She had seven half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Ferdinand of, Frederick of, Henry of, Manuel of, Phillip of, Sancho of, Alfonso of, Eleonor of, Berenguela of and Mary of.  She died in hedby, near Grantham, Lincolnshire, England.  She was buried on December 16th, 1290 in Westminster Abbey, London, England.
