"Irish Pedegrees" puts forth the theory that the "one language" of mankind handed down from Adam, of Eden, is the Celtic language. The idea comes from the workmen that were building the Tower of Babel (who had displeased God by building it) being punished by having their language confused (hence babel); but Baoth and his people were far removed from these peoples (so they should not have incurred God's rath and had their language confused); therefore, the Scythian (Celtic) language is the "one language" - the language of Eden.
