Edward was born about 1580 in Bronkesby, Leicestershire, England. Edward's father was George Villiers and his mother was Audrey Saunders. His paternal grandparents are William Villiers and Colette Clark; his maternal grandparents are William Saunders and Frances Zouche. He had a brother and a sister, named William and Elizabeth. He was the second oldest of the three children. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named John, George, Christopher and Susan. He died on September 7th, 1626.
