Roger was born about 1415 in Tretwr, Llnfhngl Cwm Du, Breconshire, Wales. Roger's father was Roger+ Vaughan and his mother was Gwladus Verch Dafydd+* Gam. His paternal grandparents are Roger+ Vaughan and Anne+ D' Evereux; his maternal grandfather was Dafydd Ap Llewelyn+ Gam and his maternal grandmother is Gwenillian Verch+ Gwilym. He had a sister named Elizabeth+. He was the younger of the two children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Richard+, William II+* and Elizabeth.
