Frederic Maurice De La was born in 1642. Frederic Maurice De La's father was Frederic Maurice De La Tour-Auvergne and his mother was Leonora Berg-s'Heerenberg. His paternal grandparents were Henri De La Tour-Auvergne and Elizabeth Flandrine Van Oranje-Nassau. He had a brother named Maurice De La. He was the younger of the two children.
