John was born on September 25th, 1767. John's father was John Stuart and his mother was Charlotte Jane Hickman. His paternal grandfather was John Stuart; his maternal grandfather was Herbert Windsor Hickman and his maternal grandmother is Alice Clavering. He had a half-brother named Dudley Coutts.
