John+ was born about 1437 in Lathom, Lancashire, England. John+'s father was Thomas+ Stanley and his mother was Joan+ Goushill. His paternal grandparents were John+ Stanley and Isabel+ Harrington; his maternal grandparents were Robert+ Goushill and Elizabeth+ Fitzalan.
