Jacques III De was born about 1390. Jacques III De's father was Godefroi V De Sombreffe and his mother was Marguerite D' Enghien. His paternal grandparents were Godefroi IV De Sombreffe and Isabelle D' Ottignies; his maternal grandparents were Jacques D' Enghien and Marie De Pierrepont. He had a half-brother named Henri De.
