John Armistead Shelton 
John Armistead was born in 1705 in Rural Plains, Hanover Co., VA. John Armistead's father was William Shelton and his mother was Hannah Armistead. His paternal grandfather was John Shelton and his paternal grandmother is Jane Chilton; his maternal grandparents were Anthony Armistead and Hannah Ellyson. He was an only child. He died at the age of 72 on September 11th, 1777 in Battle of Brandywine, Hanover Co., VA.General Notes
