Mariota was born about 1454. Mariota's father was James Scrymgeour and her mother is Margaret Maitland. Her paternal grandfather was John Scrymgeour and her paternal grandmother is Isabella Oliphant; her maternal grandparents were Robert+ Maitland and Marion+ Abernethy. She was an only child. She died on January 8th, 1518.-
