Thomas was born on January 30th, 1616 in Richmond, Henrico Co., VA. Thomas' father was John Rolfe and his mother was Amonute Matoaka Rebecca Powhatan. His maternal grandfather was Wahunsenacawh Powhatan and his maternal grandmother is Oholasc Quiqoughcohtan. He had two half-sisters named Bermuda and Elizabeth.
