Isaac+ Pennington 
Isaac+ was born in 1587 in London, England. Isaac+'s father was Isaac Robert+ Pennington and his mother was Judith+ Shetterton. His paternal grandparents were William+ Pennington and Alice+ Woodcock. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Daniel, Robert, Judith and Mary. He was the third oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 74 on December 17th, 1661 in Tower of London Middlesex, England, died before his execution could be carried out..General Notes
"Isaac the Quaker was the son of Sir Isaac Pennington, who was an Alderman (1638-1657), High Sheriff (1638), and Lord Mayor of London in 1642 and 1643. He was knighted in 1649. Sir Isaac served in both the Short and Long Parliaments, and was of that unfortunate assemblage that decided to lop off Charles I's head, although to Sir Isaac's credit, he did not vote in favor of the lopping. The elder Isaac fell on hard times financially in the 1650's, and much harder times ensued when Charles II was reinstated to the monarchy, and set about settling the score with the Parliamentary regicides who had killed his father. Although Sir Isaac had not signed the death warrant, and pleaded "not guilty," he was nonetheless imprisoned in the Tower of London, where he died in 1660 (sic)."

Isaac, of London, a merchant, ca 40 years, at his father's death, 1627, knighted by the Speaker of the House of Commons, and in 1649 was made a member of the Council of State, succeeded to all his father's lands and tenements in Suffolk and Norfolk, High Sheriff of London, 1638, M.P. for the City in 1640-1, and lord mayor in 1643, lieutenant of the tower and one of the commissioners of the High Court of Justice for the trial of King Charles I, but he did not sign the warrant for his execution; he was betrayed by King Charles II, and committed to the Tower of London in 166O, and his estates confiscated. He was sentenced to death, and died in the Tower, from the effects of ill-usage, 17 Dec 1661, before his sentence was put into execution."
