His paternal grandparents were Wilhelm Heinrich Von Nassau-Usingen and Charlotte Amalie Von Nassau-Dillenburg; his maternal grandparents were Johann Wilhelm Von Sachsen and Magdalena Sibylla Von Sachsen.
