James was born about 1607 in Llandaff, Glamorganshire, Wales. James' father was William Morgan and his mother was Elizabeth Morgan. His maternal grandparents were William Morgan and Elizabeth Winter. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named John and Elizabeth. He died in 1685 in Groton, New London Co, CT.General Notes
