Margaret was born about 1445 in Molescoe, Northumberland, England. Margaret's father was John Mitford and her mother is Constance Ogle. Her paternal grandfather was William Mitford and her paternal grandmother is Margaret Lisle; her maternal grandparents were Robert Ogle and Maud Grey. She was an only child.
