According to the genealogy chart on pages 248-249 of "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" by Baigent, Leigh, and Lincoln <Delta trade paperback edition, 2004), Clovis I had two wives: Evochilde who was pagan and bore Thierry I (Theuderic I), and Clothilde, who was a Christian and a niece of the King of Burgundy.) The ancestors of Clovis I "followed the pagan cult of 'Diana of the Ardennes--of the nine fires."
Upon the death of Clovis I, the kingdom was split among his four sons.
