Gilbert was born on October 14th, 1758 in Poughkeepsie, NY. Gilbert's father was James Livingstone and his mother was Judith Newcomb. His paternal grandfather was Gilbert Livingstone and his paternal grandmother is Cornelia Beekman. He was an only child. He died at the age of 74 on April 7th, 1833 in Rome, NY.General Notes
