George Griffin 
George was born on January 14th, 1778 in East Haddam, CT. George's father was George Griffin and his mother was Eve Dorr. His maternal grandparents were Edmund Dorr and Mary Griswold. He was an only child. He died at the age of 82 on May 6th, 1860.General Notes
George graduated at Yale in 1797. He became a lawyer and received the degree L.L.D. from Columbia College in 1837. He was a distinguished member of the New York bar for 52 years. He wrote and published two works on theology after his retirement.
