Matilda+ was born about 1132 in Brimsfield, Gloucestershire, England. Matilda+'s father was Elias II+ Giffard and her mother was Berta De+ Clifford. Her paternal grandfather was Elias Helias+ Giffard and her paternal grandmother is Ala+ X; her maternal grandfather was Richard De Saint Pons De+ Clifford and her maternal grandmother is Maude Fitzwalter De+ Pitres. She had three brothers named Walter+, Gilbert and Elias Helias+. She was the oldest of the four children. She died on June 12th, 1227.General Notes
