Joan I De+ was born about 1228 in Derbyshire, England.  Joan I De+'s father was William De+ Ferrers and her mother was Sibyl+ Marshall.  Her paternal grandparents were William De+ Ferrers and Agnes Of Kevelioc De+ Meschines; her maternal grandparents were William+ Marshall and Isabel Fitzgilbert De+ Clare. She had five sisters named Isabel De+, Agnes De+, Maud De+, Sibyl De and Agatha De+.  She was the third oldest of the six children. She had three half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Robert De+, William De+, William VI De+, Elizabeth De+, Agnes De+, Joan II De+ and Agnes De+.  She died in October 1267.

‌Joan I De+ and Robert+ were married in a religious ceremony about 1251.  They had a daughter named Isabel+.

They had a son and a daughter, named John II De+ and Margaret De.
