Phillip was born about 1390 in Scrivelsby, Lincolnshire, England. Phillip's father was Thomas Dymoke and his mother was Elizabeth Walden. His paternal grandparents were John Dymoke and Margaret Ludlow; his maternal grandparents are Nicholas De Hebden Walden and Catherine De Wyhum. He was an only child.
