Jean Charles was born on October 24th, 1822. Jean Charles' father was Jean Baptiste Dugas and his mother is Adelaide Broussard. His paternal grandfather is Eloi Dugas and his paternal grandmother was Susanne Bonin. He has three brothers and a sister, named Jean Valcour, Eloi, Alcide and Marie Louise Zelina.
