Geoffrey+ was born about 1195 in Defford, Worcestershire, England and his baptism took place in Also Of Martley, Worcestershire, England. Geoffrey+'s father was Thomas+ Despencer and his mother is Rohesia De+ Foix. His paternal grandfather was Almaric+ Despencer and his paternal grandmother is Amabel De+ Chesney; his maternal grandfather is Roger Bernard I De+ Foix and his maternal grandmother was Cecile+ Trencavel. He had a brother and two sisters, named Hugh Le+, Muriel+ and Rohesia Le+. He was the oldest of the four children. He died in 1242.General Notes
