Armistead Henry Churchill 
Armistead Henry was born on October 19th, 1796 in Elizabethtown, KY. Armistead Henry's father was Henry Churchill and his mother was Penelope Pope. His paternal grandparents were Armistead II Churchill and Elizabeth Bakewell. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Alexander Pope, Wordan Pope, Eliza Ann and Lucy. He was the youngest of the five children. He had a half-sister named Ann Abigail. He died at the age of 83 on March 22nd, 1880 in Elizabethtown, KY.General Notes
"Hon. A.H. Churchill" is cited as father to Penelope Churchill in the announcement of her marriage to Thomas N. Eastin. An obituary for Penelope Churchill, published Sept. 08, 1848 in the "Western Citizen" states: "Easton (sic), Mrs. Penelope, age 30, wife of Thomas N. Eastin of Henderson Co., KY, d. in Elizabethtown at home of father, Hon. (A.H.) Churchill." Papers of Armistead Henry Churchill that I obtained from Filson Historical Society, taken together with other sources indicate that the "Hon. A.H. Churchill", named as father of Penelope, was very likely a son of Henry Churchill and Penelope Pope. He may also have been married to an Eliza Percefull, but I have not yet found independent proof to support this.
According to "Historical Churches" at http://www.etownheritage.org/historicalchurches.html, Judge Churchill was a principal contributor for the building for the first Episcopal Church in Elizabethtown.
