"Suffering from financial difficulties in 1816, (Anne) moved her family to a smaller house on Washington St. in Alexandria, and in 1818, she moved her family to a larger, more comfortable home on Oronoco Street, Alexandria, rented to her on favorable terms by one of the ever-protective Lee family."
