Nicholas was born about 1420 in Clayton, Lancastershire, England. Nicholas' father was John+ Byron and his mother was Margery+ Booth. His paternal grandparents were Richard+ Byron and Joan De+ Colewick; his maternal grandparents are John+ Booth and Joan+ Trafford. He had a brother and a sister, named Richard+ and Elizabeth.
