Robert was born before 1627 in Clackmannan, Perthshire, Scotland. Robert's father was Thomas Bruce and his mother was Ann Chichester. His paternal grandfather was Edward Bruce and his paternal grandmother is Magdalene Clerk; his maternal grandfather was Robert Chichester and his maternal grandmother is Frances Harrington. He was an only child. He died on October 20th, 1685 in Ampthill, Bedfordshire, England. He was buried on October 26th, 1685 in Maulden, Bedfordshire, England.General Notes
