Clement Uriah Bates 
Clement Uriah was born on January 22nd, 1595 in Lydd, Kent, England. Clement Uriah's father was James B.+ Bates and his mother is Mary+ Martin. His paternal grandparents were John+ Bate and Mildred+ Ward. He had a brother named John. He was the older of the two children. He died at the age of 76 on September 17th, 1671.General Notes
One of four men who, by 4/19/1637, had a monopoly on the Herring Fishery at Weir River.
Clement was part of a committee to apportion the lands at "Conyhasset" (by 06 July1640).
Instrumental in forming Cohasset, the 2nd precinct of Hingham.
