Alexander was born about 1381 in Mathers, St. Cyrus, Kincardineshire, Scotland. Alexander's father was David II Barclay and his mother is Catherine Seton. His paternal grandfather was Alexander I Berkeley and his paternal grandmother is Catherine Keith. He was an only child. He died about 1416.General Notes
