Thomas was born about 1468 in Wilmcote, Aston Cantlowe, Warwickshire, England. Thomas' father is Walter Arderne and his mother is Eleanor Hampton. His paternal grandfather was Robert Arderne and his paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Clodshale; his maternal grandparents are John Hampton and Elizabeth Whalesborough. He was an only child.
