His paternal grandparents were Ferdinand II D' Aragon and Isabelle De Clermont-Lodeve; his maternal grandfather was Pirro Del Balzo and his maternal grandmother is Maria Donata Orsini. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Ferdinando D', Afonso D', Isabella D' and Giulia D'. He is the youngest of the five children. He had a half-sister named Carlotta D'.-
