Renaud was born in 1108 in Clermont, Oise, France. Renaud's father was Count Hugh de Creil de Clermont and his mother was Margaret de Roucy. His paternal grandfather was Renaud de Clermont and his paternal grandmother is Ermengardis de Clermont; his maternal grandparents were Count Hildouin de Montdidier III and Adelaide de Rheims de Roucy. He had three sisters named Alice, Richilds and Ermentrude. He was the youngest of the four children. He died about 1162.General Notes
