Richard was born about 1179. Richard's father was Richard III de Gobion and his mother was Beatrice de Lucelles. His paternal grandfather was Sheriff Hugh II de Gobion of Northampton; his maternal grandfather is Hugh de Lucelles. He was an only child. He died before December 29th, 1230 in Gascony, France.-
