Abigail was born on July 10th, 1724 in Harwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts, USA.1   Abigail's father is Joshua Merrick and her mother is Lydia Mayo. She had four brothers and three sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Thomas, Seth, Joseph, Barnabas, Lydia, Hannah, Mary and Bealeel.  She is the fourth oldest of the nine children.
