Thomas was born about 1392 in Of, Elford, Staffordshire, England. Thomas' father was Sir John De Stanley boght Isle of Man and his mother was Isabel Lathom. His paternal grandparents were Sir William Stanley and Alice Massey; his maternal grandfather was Thomas De Latham Knight and his maternal grandmother is Joan De Venables. He had three brothers and three sisters, named John, Henry, Ralph, Isabel, Margaret and Stanley. He was the third youngest of the seven children. He died in May 1463.-
