Eleanor was born about 1270 in , Segrave, Leicestershire, England. Eleanor's father was Nicholas de Segrave Baron Segrave and her mother was Maud de Lacy. Her maternal grandparents were Gilbert De Lacy and Isabel Bigod. She had four brothers and a sister, named John De, Nicholas De, Henry De, Stephen De and Maud de. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Piers, Simon De, Pierre (the younger) and Joan. She died in 1314.-
