John was born about 1394 in Over-Peover, Cheshire, Eng.. John's father was Randle Mainwaring and his mother was Margery Venables. His paternal grandfather was William Mainwaring and his paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Leycester 2 wife; his maternal grandfather was Hugh De Venables and his maternal grandmother is Margery Cotton. He had two brothers and six sisters, named William, Randle, Elizabeth, Margery, Cecily, Joan, Ellen and Agnes. He was the oldest of the nine children. He had a half-sister named pHILLIPA. He died in September 1480.-
