Constance de was born in 1218 in <, Malpas, Cheshire, England>.1   Constance de's father was Gwenwynwyn ap Owain and her mother was Margaret Corbet.  Her maternal grandparents were Robert Corbet and Emma Pantolph (pantulf). She had a brother named Bleddyn Ap.  She was the younger of the two children. She had two half-brothers named Gruffyd) Ap and William.1
