Sufference was born on September 11th, 1620 in , Shaftesbury, Dorset, England and her baptism took place in 1634 in , Sutton Manderville, Wiltshire, England.1   Sufference's father was Walter Haynes and her mother was Elizabeth Gourd. She had three brothers and a sister, named John, Josias, Thomas and Mary.  She died at the age of 61 on July 22nd, 1682 in Watertown, Middlesex, Massachusetts.  She was buried in July 1682 in Watertown, Middlesex, Massachusetts.1 1

‌Sufference and Nathaniel were married in a religious ceremony in 1639 in Sudbury, Middlesex, Massachusetts.1   They had three sons and four daughters, named Jonathan, James, Josiah, Mary, Elizabeth, Lydia and Deborah.
