Her paternal grandparents were "The Simple" King of Franks Charles III and Princess of England Eadgiva. She had six brothers and three sisters, named King of France, Prince of the Franks, Charles, Charles Duke of Lower, Duke of Lower Lorraine, Charles, Princess of the Franks, Matilda of France and of France, Queen of Burgundy. She was the fourth oldest of the ten children. She had six half-brothers and nine half-sisters, named , King of France Capet, Otto Eudes , Duke of Burgundy, Duke of Lower Burgundy, Heinrich I, Duke of Burgundy, Heribert [illegitimate], Alberade of, Countess of Vermandois, Hedwig, Countess of Luxembourg, Albrade of Lorraine, Gerberge of Lorraine, Beatrix , of France, Lady of Normandy, Emma and Beatrix of France, Duchess of Upper Lorraine.
