Piers Fitzherbert 
Piers was born about 1190 in Brecknock, Wales.1 Piers' father was Piers Piers (Peter) Fitzherbert and his mother is Alice Fitzroger. His paternal grandparents were Herbert II Fitzherbert II and Lucy Of Hereford Lady of Blaen Llyfni; his maternal grandparents are Robert Fitzalured and Maud. He had a sister named Joan. He was the younger of the two children. He had a half-brother named Thomas. He died on June 1st, 1235 in Blweleveny, Wales.1 General Notes
Peter FitzHerbert was one of the Barons who signed the Magna Charta, butwas not one of the Sureties for its observance. He was at first veryobsequious to King John and was reputed one of that Prince's evilcounsellors. In 1214 he was constituted Governor of Pykering Castle,County York, and Sheriff of the Shire. Afterwards, falling off in hisallegiance, his lands at Alcester, which he had received through hisgrandmother, Juliana Corbet, were seized by the crown and given toWilliam de Camville. Returning, however, to his duty upon accession ofHenry III, those lands were restored to him.
