William I "Longsword" was born in 0893 in of Normandie, France. William I "Longsword"'s father was Rolf (Rollo) "Wend-a-Foot" Duke of Normandy and his mother is Poppa de Valois. His paternal grandparents were Ragnvald I Eysteinssøn "the Wise" Jarl of Maer and Ragnhild (Hildr) Hrolfsdottir; his maternal grandfather was Bérenger de Senlis de Bayeux and his maternal grandmother is Nn of Brittany. He had a brother and four sisters, named Robert, Crespina, Gerloc, Adele and Kathlin. He was the oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 49 on December 17th, 0942 in France.-
