Aymer was born about 1317 in Of, Notton, York, England. Aymer's father was John "Le Neveu" Darcy Baron Darcy and his mother was Emeline Heron. His paternal grandfather was Roger Darcy Knight and his paternal grandmother is Isabel D'aton; his maternal grandparents are Walter Heron and Cristiana De Motton. He had three brothers and a sister, named John "de Knayth", Roger, Robert and Eleanor. He is the oldest of the five children. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named William, Son, Anne (Elizabeth) and Elizabeth.-
