Herfast (Arfastus) de was born in 0955 in Arque, Seine-Inferieure, Normandy.1   Herfast (Arfastus) de's father was Herbastus Forester of Arque and his mother is Gunnhild Olafsdottir. He has three sisters named Avelina (Wevia) "not" de, Senfrie (Senfria and Duvelina (Eva.  He is the youngest of the four children.
