Adelaide de was born about 1004 in Normandy,France.  Adelaide de's father was Count Raimund Borrel Bererger of Barcelona and her mother was Ermensinde de Carcassonne.  Her paternal grandparents were Count Borrell II of Barcelona and Luitgarde de Toulouse Ledgarda; her maternal grandparents were Count Roger I Of Carcassonne and Countess Adelaide Of Carcassonne. She had two brothers and a sister, named Berenguer Raymond I 'el Curvo' de, Raymond I "the Crooked" Berengar of and Estephania de.  She was the second oldest of the four children.  She died in 1051.
