Emma d' was born about 1074 in Folkstone, Kent, England. Emma d''s father was Vicomte William Vicomte d' Arques and her mother is Beatrix Malet. Her paternal grandparents are Vicomte Godfrey d'Arques and Amelie de Rouen; her maternal grandparents were William I Malet and Elsie Hesilia Crispin. She has two sisters named Maud and Maud d'. She is the youngest of the three children. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Osbern, Osbern de, Maud and Emma.General Notes
I originally had Emma as daughter of Beatrice de Bolbec. However NigelBarker states that Beatrice de Bourbourg (I say Beatrice de Gand), 1stwife of Aubrey de Vere, 1st Earl of Oxford, was a great granddaughter ofBeatrice Malet and William of Arques. Therefore Emma must be a daughterof that marriage. Note that Nigel did not mention Emma by name.
