Luitfried III Count of Upper was born in 0797 in Alsace, France.1 He had a brother and four sisters, named Count of Bourges, Bertha of, Ermengarde of, , Holy Roman Empress Queen of Italy and Adelaide of. He was the oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 68 in 0865 in Tours, Indre-et-Loire, Touraine/Centre, France.1
