Edward was born about 1604 in Of, Tattershall, Lincolnshire, England. Edward's father was Thomas Clinton [EARL OF LINCOLN and his mother was Elizabeth KNYVETT. His paternal grandparents were Henry CLINTON (FIENNES [EARL OF LINCOLN and Catherine HASTINGS; his maternal grandparents were Henry KNYVETT [SIR KNIGHT] and Elizabeth Stumple OR STUMP. He had eight brothers and ten sisters, named Henry, Thomas, Charles, Robert, Knevet, John, James, Theophilus, Catherine, Lucy, Dorcas, Sarah, Arabella, Susan, Frances, Frances, Ann and Elizabeth. He died before November 25th, 1615.-
