Dotson was born on June 3rd, 1824 in LaRue Co., Kentucky.1 Dotson's father was Frederick Warren and his mother was Sarah Pierce. His paternal grandparents were William J. Warren and Rhoda Unknown. He had three brothers and five sisters, named William Frederick, Hezekiah, Jacob, Eliza, Nancy Rhoda, Jemmia, Nancy and Texeanna. He died at the age of 82 on June 9th, 1906 in LaRue Co., Kentucky.
