Thurman Franklin was born on December 17th, 1913 in Buckhorn Township, Harnett Co., North Carolina.1 Thurman Franklin's father was James Franklin Tutor and his mother was Rebecca Jane Dean. His paternal grandparents were James A. Tutor and Elizabeth A. Dennis; his maternal grandparents are William Dean and Betty Wilson. He had a brother and a sister, named James William and Elizabeth Mae. He was the youngest of the three children. He died at the age of 73 on February 9th, 1987 in Kipling, Harnett Co., North Carolina.1 General Notes
